Charles University is proud to be one of the best-ranking medical schools in Central Europe, according to The Times University Rankings. The prestige of Charles University has been earned over the centuries by its immense research output and its integration into its syllabus. For medicine, each of its five faculties offers a different approach to teaching to suit the preferences of students. Though different in nature, all of their courses are united in their outstanding quality.

While the Second Faculty of Charles University is similar to the First Faculty in terms of syllabus and the approach to teaching, it is smaller in capacity.   • What are the living costs in Prague?

    For Central-European standards, the living costs are slightly above average.  However, in turn, students receive superior services and much wider opportunities. The average monthly dormitory cost amounts to 200 €. If a private room in a flat is preferred, the price reaches 250 – 500 €. The total monthly expenditures vary  depending on your living standards, but generally students spend 350 – 700 € (accommodation, meals, transport and culture included).

An endless variety of delicious street food and dining is available, as well.

  • Opportunities after I graduate, work placement coming home?

    The degrees awarded to the students are recognized in all countries of the European Union and most countries outside. Therefore, after acquiring the degree, you will be eligible to become a doctor in virtually any country of your preference. Moreover, the large body of international students will allow you to build a network of connections with alumni for future collaboration.  

  • What are the university fees?

    The annual tuition fee is 13,850 €.

  • English requirements?

    No declaration of language proficiency is required by this faculty; however, adequate English language skills are largely beneficial for the course.

  • What are the admission requirements?

    Entrance examination is done in the form of multiple choice question, testing the scientific knowledge of students in Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics. The language of examination is English. If successful, applicants must pass an oral interview that reviews their motivation and personality.

  • Are there any additional costs?

    Do not worry: all additional costs, such as the recognition of your secondary education degree, are taken care of by us.

  • Is there any financial aid provided?

    Scholarships for excellent student results are provided.

  • Who can apply ?

    All applicants need to hold a degree of completed secondary (high school) education. International degrees do need to be recognised by the Czech recognition authority, but do not let that discourage you – we will take care of everything.

    IB students need to take any two of Biology, Chemistry or Physics at High level. A-level students need to complete at least 3 subjects with grade C or better. Two of the subjects need to be any of Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

  • Visa requirements?

    EU citizens are not required to have a Visa to commence studies in the EEA exclusive area. In times of Brexit and uncertainty in the political landscape, we will take care of your VISA application.

    For all other countries, the clients will be assisted with the intricacies of the VISA application. We are certain we can make your journey to becoming a doctor as smooth as possible.
